AE Urbia Office Building

This $2.9 million project in South Jordan is a shining example of sustainable design, highlighted by 144 low-profile solar panels and highly efficient MEP systems. The rooftop ballasted solar array system will produce 50 kilowatts of energy and is expected to pay for itself in three years.
The building itself has a high-tech, modern feel with a structure that sits prominently on the top of an elevated site, and includes a walk-out basement to the east that offers the feel of a dramatic two-story building with a pitched 16 ft. tall ceiling. Glass Nana walls with transom windows can be opened during favorable weather days, giving occupants an even closer connection to the environment.
The non-combustible structure was built primarily of cast-in-place reinforced concrete, with exterior walls featuring architectural concrete with reveals. Glazing is maximized on the east face for enhanced views and daylighting, with automated sunshades on certain windows where needed. Beyond lighting systems, all mechanical, security and A/V systems are automated to further improve energy conservation.
