UVU Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism

This visually stunning 15,000 SF building on Utah Valley University’s north end of campus is a much-needed space for autism research and care in the community. Classrooms and observation rooms are designed with unique sensory elements such as a swinging tree, interactive fiber optic cables, and sensory modules, all designed to maximize students’ ability to learn.
Light plays an important role in the building and includes a striking lobby highlighted with glass and wood and a sweeping, modern stairway accentuated with metal and glass. Exterior finishes include brick, expansive sections of glazing, board-formed and pre-cast concrete, and metal panels.
The building is prominently situated on Main Street in Orem, and offers excellent views to the east of Mount Timpanogos.
